SDE created Clown Jewels, powered by 800 Pound Gorilla Media, to distribute classic comedy audio and video content worldwide. Their roster includes, Robin Williams, George Carlin, Lucille Ball and more.
In 2017, SDE joined forces with 800 Pound Gorilla Media, one of the largest comedy distribution and record labels in the world, with offices in Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, London and Brussels.
SDE partnered to create and distribute programming to Netflix. Currently available on the channel are “Still Laugh-In: The Stars Celebrate” and “The Improv: 50 Years Behind the Brick Wall.”
SDE, under their Clown Jewels label, supplies legacy comedy content and programming to SiriusXM’s comedy channels. As one of the largest classic comedy suppliers, Clown Jewels content can be heard in dedicated pop-up channels, features and in continuous rotation.
SDE, in association with New Cadence Productions, produced one of the first big special events for MAX. “The HA Festival: The Art of Comedy” was shot live in San Antonio and is the only event special dedicated solely to Latino comedy.
SDE worked with Comedy Central to produce programming from comedy events at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival for comedycentral.com. They also created a version of “The Improv: 50 Years Behind the Brick Wall,” specifically for the Comedy Central audience.
After helping to launch the streamer, EPIX, SDE continued the relationship by producing the “The Improv: 50 Years Behind the Brick Wall,” “The Nantucket Film Festival’s Comedy Roundtable,” moderated by Bill Hader, starring Jim Carey, Chris Rock and Ben Stiller and Janeane Garafolo’s one-hour special, “If You Will.”
SDE is a strong supporter of The National Comedy Center. Working with their team, SDE helped launch the George and Jolene Brand Schlatter Theater, a fully immersive experience.
SDE created Bad Password Records to help comedians get their comedy albums distributed to SiriusXM during the Pandora copyright infringement lawsuit proceedings. Bad Password Records is in full compliance with SiriusXM’s mandates for submissions.
SDE manages, distributes and licenses the entire George Schlatter Productions library, including “The American Comedy Awards,” “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In” and others.
